Attachment theory, in developmental psychology, is the theory that humans are born with a need to form a close emotional bond with a caregiver and that such a bond will develop during the first six months of a child's life. This attachment shapes how we relate to people in our lives. We see this especially around intimate relationships. We all develop patterns of behavior based on these early attachment imprints.

Understanding your attachment style will:

  • Help you quickly rule out who is, and who is not, a good “fit” for you, saving a ton of time and energy. Who doesn’t want that, right?

  • Give you peace of mind that you are not alone and there are solutions.

  • Help you understand who you are and why you do the things you do.

  • Help you create healthy boundaries.

  • Enable you to attract healthy people: both romantically and plutonically
